Worldwide Spin in Public Day 2023

I organized a spin in public day for my guild and we had lovely weather for it. I was nervous because I hadn’t been to the park before but I picked it because it had a bathroom and pavilion that didn’t need reservations. I thought that might be both a pro and a con—it was free and we didn’t need to reserve it but on the other hand other people might want to be in a free pavilion on a perfect September day.

We lucked out and there were some kids on the playground nearby but the pavilion was empty. Around 11:30 some people came and started to set up for a party on the other side of the pavilion from us but we were out if there at noon anyway.

We ended up with about eight people and one person who saw about it online and now might join the guild! I posted it all over online as part of my effort to put the word out about the guild and it’s paid off a little! It’s hard to target spinners and weavers because everyone is so spread out and I don’t know any personally besides the guild members.

It was fun and nice to see so many different wheels. I made a batt to spin and did that.

It was also an excuse to show off my new Joy 2! It does travel well!
