Crochet Kit from Lousy Llama

So how cute is this little guy! I saw on TikTok that the woman behind Lousy Llama beginner crochet kit filed for a patent for a tool that helped you make the magic ring that helps with making a lot of crochet projects in the round but is infamously tricky. I chose Fern the succulent.

I placed my order and it arrived really quickly! She had a great combo of written instructions and videos. I am glad I had my class at the Speckled Sheep though because I could dive right in. She even included a mini skein of practice yarn which is such a clever idea. You do really jump right in with crocheting in the round, shaping and crocheting into the same stitch to make the leaf pattern.

I did feel like the yarn split a little but it wasn’t too bad. I am always worried about running out of yarn so I was slightly stressed but it was fine even though I accidentally increased the “pot” section and had to increase the “dirt” section so it matched. I need to practice counting my stitches in the round!

She has a mystery kit of the month club for $20 so I signed up. I don’t know if I will get it indefinitely but it was fun to make and I think will be good practice.

I might be in the minority here but I like kits and getting exactly what I need for a project ready to go.
