Tour de Fleece Day 12: More Thrifted Yarn

Today I spun a 4 oz braid from Polymorph Dye Works. I had bought it at the Frederick Fiber Fest and the owner told me they didn’t sell a lot of roving but that day they did and she wasn’t sure how great it was but it would be fun to try. It wasn’t very expensive.

It was Falkland wool and a little stiff. I broke the braid into many strips to make it easier to spin. Unfortunately that meant I kept thinking it was done and then I’d find more strips! It’s so light, they fall to the floor or drift away while I was spinning and I wouldn’t notice. I ended up making a bunch of small skeins.

I corespun it with yellow eyelash yarn I thrifted. The wool was mostly blue and green with tiny bits of yellow, pink and purple but I think it worked!

I think it was a good use of a color and style of yarn I can’t imagine having any other use for.
