Tour de Fleece Day 4: PA Merino

I planned to spin both of the bags of this merino from Bauer Family Farm up in PA I bought at festivals but I got stung by a bee while putting the last 3 days’ worth of yarn outside to dry!

Luckily it was on the top of my foot so it only hurts to walk and not when I’m sitting down too much. Spinning was okay but I don’t want to over do it!

Our youngest dog is worried about fireworks and kept trying to lay on my wheel on my feet but settled for laying in front of it which was awkward but okay.

I’m realizing that I have to prep the yarn in bags like this a lot more than I thought. This was very soft but needed to be loosened up or it tangled.

Next time I might run it though the drum carder—I have more from the same place in a different colorway.
